🚀Getting Started

Zonn requires macOS 14.0 (Sonoma) or later. It's optimized for Apple Silicon but runs great on Intel Macs too.

Click the 'Plant' button in the main window to start a session. You can choose your duration from the presets (25, 50, 60, 90, or 120 minutes) or set a custom time.

If you cancel before completing the session, your tree won't be planted. The goal is to encourage you to stay focused for the full duration.

Features

Your tree grows through four stages as you progress: seedling (0-25%), sprout (25-50%), evergreen (50-75%), and full tree (75-100%). Complete the session to plant your tree!

Yes! You can create custom labels like 'Study', 'Writing', or 'Deep Work' to categorize your sessions and track how you spend your focused time.

Zonn can control Spotify playback during your sessions. Grant automation permissions when prompted, and you'll see your current track with play/pause controls right in the app.

The Focus Panel is a floating window that stays on top of other apps. Toggle it with Command+Shift+F. It works across all Spaces and with fullscreen applications.

🔧Technical

Zonn uses macOS Automation to control Spotify playback. This is completely optional—if you don't use Spotify, you can skip this permission.

All data is stored locally on your Mac using SwiftData. Nothing is sent to external servers. Your focus history stays private on your device.

You can clear your session history from the app's settings. Alternatively, uninstalling the app removes all stored data.

Try these steps: 1) Make sure you're on macOS 14.0 or later, 2) Right-click the app and select 'Open' to bypass Gatekeeper on first launch, 3) Check System Settings > Privacy & Security if blocked.
